Salt-contaminated plaster above it is then stripped and replaced with a salt-resistant render, since old plaster stays hygroscopic even after the wall dries.
A treated wall typically takes several weeks to months to dry out fully, depending on wall thickness and ventilation, even though the DPC itself is effective immediately. We re-plaster with a salt-resistant render specifically so redecoration doesn't need to wait for the wall to be bone dry.
